Ananda Chakrabarty Memorial Scholarship

Varosha offers one scholarship a year to a low-income Illinois student looking for financial support to attend college/university. The scholarship is for $5,000/year, with opportunity to renew annually (for a total of four years of support) based on the student continuing to meet required metrics.

 

Students must take either the SAT or ACT and maintain a B average to be eligible for and maintain the scholarship. The application requires the following supplemental documentation:

• School transcripts

• ACT/SAT score documentation

• College/university admission letter

• 3 recommendation letters from teachers, employers, research advisors, etc

 

Applications for the fall 2026 school year are being accepted now and are due March 15, 2026.
